The year of 2011 is coming to a close! I’m not so sure that I’m ready for it, but I guess a new beginning is always a positive! So, I have used way too many products throughout the year, and that makes it quite hard to narrow it down to a select few overall favorites. With some long and hard thinking I believe I have managed to come up with a list of the items I have truly loved and adored. Some of these will be more recent products that I have started using in the past few months, and some of them will be things I have consistently used all year long. I will cut this intro short and stop blabbering…(drum roll please)…here are my favorite beauty products of 2011!
I can’t go on with a favorites list without the one product that I have steadily used every single day for the past five years. That would be bareMinerals SPF 15 Original Foundation. I have told you guys how I fell in love with this powder many times before, so I’ll save you the misery on that one. I have had acne for at least eight years of my life so far so I have lots of pimples and scars on my skin. This powder foundation seriously has worked miracles for me! I am overly self conscious about my skin, and a few buffs of the powder leaves me confident and happy with the way I look. I just cannot get the natural flawless look that I achieve with bareMinerals by using any other foundation.
I hate to go on a rant about how amazing Urban Decay’s Primer Potion is, but I feel like it absolutely has to go on this list as well. It’s the only other product that I use every single day no matter what, and I really can’t imagine my makeup routine without it. So basically if you don’t use it already you should totally go out and purchase it! It’s phenomenal, and my eyeshadow never even budges with this powerhouse underneath!
I have used soo many different eyeliners, and I feel like I’m trying out new ones all the time. I had been regularly using Urban Decay’s liquid eyeliner in Oil Slick for quite a while, but I strayed away from my tried and true and bought Revlon’s Colorstay Liquid Eye Pen. This is a much much cheaper option and it works just as well in my opinion. It glides on easily and maintains its color all day! After using it for a few months, I will have to say that this is my new favorite liner!
This Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque is hands down THE best hair product I have ever used! I’m pretty sure I’ve been using this all year or pretty darn close. Even though it is a masque and tells you to only use 2-3 times a week, I opt for using this as normal conditioner. It leaves my hair soo smooth, soft, shiny and easy to tame! Quick little side note for those of you who might be scared off my the price of such a small tub; I have been using this at least 4 times a week for the past year and I still have about 1/4 of the container left. You will get your moneys worth! I promise!
This item is more of a recent purchase, but I can already tell that it will be something I will continue to buy again and again. It is Queen Helene’s Cocoa Butter Hand and Body Lotion! I am really picky about my my daily body moisturizer, but this one has passed all the tests! It leaves my skin crazy soft, it smells great but not too strong, and it has a great medium consistency. I picked this HUGE bottle up for $2 at my local Dollar General Market. This just might be the best two bucks I have ever spent!
